Medicare Incentives for Physicians

Amounts shown are per physician. To participate in the incentives, you must be a meaningful user.

As defined by the HITECH Act, a physician meaningful user is one using software that supports computerized provider order entry, uses ePrescribing, submits information to HHS on clinical quality measures, and demonstrates to HHS that they are using a certified EHR technology in a meaningful manner. Certification is not defined as CCHIT certification in the HITECH Act.

Qualified EHR software has the capacity to do the following:

Provide clinical decision support,
Support physician order entry,
Capture and query information relevant to healthcare quality, and
Exchange electronic health information with, and integrate such information from other sources.
